Approximately a quarter of accidents at oil and gas production facilities in Russia occur due to the personnel fault, including to insufficient qualification of technological process operators. The methods of training operators that exist in most organizations come down to extensive theoretical training and the development of practical skills at the existing production facility with the mentor. The biggest problem is, as a rule, the transition from theory to practice. Means, which allow to develop practical skills, are well known — workplace simulators with the models of the technological process and control system. However, in reality, at the sites of gas production and preparation for transportation, the percentage of provision of process units with training simulators is quite low. This is due to significant differences in objects and technological processes from each other, and, as a result, the need to create and further support the special simulators for each separate technological object, which is rather expensive and difficult from the organizational point of view. The high cost of creation and support is due to the lack of the specialized means, which allow to create and maintain in the relevant condition simulators of the specified type for the technological objects.

The article presents the methodology that allows to increase the competence of the employees, and, as a consequence, industrial safety of the objects of production, preparation of gas and gas condensate for transportation through the use of information technologies. The methodology solves the described problem through the integrated approach: methods and models of the creation processes describe all the stages of the development of simulators, technical means allow to automate most stages of work with a high degree. In addition, the simulators were developed for various types of technological objects that can be used as half-finished products for creating simulators for the objects of similar type.
