Optimization of the Form of an Investigation Report of an Injury at the High-Injury Rate Manufacturing Industry

Annotation:

To optimize the form of incident investigation report, all the information on injury rate for 2006–2016 was collected. This was done for the objective to identify the specific features of injuries at the industrial enterprises of the Republic of Kazakhstan, taking into account the types of incidents and their causes. It was established that 22 212 injuries occurred over five years, of which 1319 were of group type. The largest number of injuries was recorded in the manufacturing industry. The regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan with a high level of injury rate were identified. The international experience was studied concerning performance of incident investigations, statistics on work injuries were analyzed using the example of the countries of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development and the Eurasian Economic Union (the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus). Further, based on the international experience of these countries, the proposals were developed on optimizing the forms of materials for investigating incidents related to labor activities. Proposals for revising the wording of some articles of the Labor Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan are presented. Also, the proposals were developed on improving the forms of statistical reporting on occupational injuries and professional diseases for obtaining full and comprehensive statistical information on injury rate by the authorized state body, and, improving the state statistical observations over injury rate at production site.
