Russian-Norwegian Project «Barents–2020»: Harmonization of Standards in the Field of Risk Analysis

The results of the activity of the Russian and Norwegian specialists group on risk analysis within the frame of the project «Barents–2020» are given in the Article. The analysis results of some International codes are shown; these results can be used at normative regulation of industrial safety and accidents risk assessment at the floating platforms topsides in the arctic conditions of the continental shelf, are shown.

Complex Monitoring of Technogenic Soil Masses in the Open-Pit-Coal Mines

The results of complex monitoring (geotechnical, hydrogeomechanical, surveying-geodetic and electrophysical control methods) of hydromechanical processes in the technogenic soil masses of the edge of the open-pit mine, adjacent to them dams of the receiving hoppers are given in the Article. The methods and the forecast results of stability of dam slopes and open-pit-coal mines walls based on the monitoring results are specified.

Improvement of Russian Industrial Explosive Materials Assortment for Underground Ore Mines of Russia

It is shown that the development of the assortment of the used industrial explosive materials for the underground works in the Russian Federation takes place in accordance with the world-wide tendencies mainly towards the increase of share of using emulsion type safe and highly effective explosives. Application of porous aluminium powder at pneumatic loading is described as a development stage.

Use of Extraction System with Mass Caving in the Presence of Karsts in the Ore and Surrounding Rocks

Mining-and-geological and mine technical conditions of the kimberlite pipe «Udachnaya» development are reviewed in the Article. The factors are given which complicate field development — presence of karsts in the ore and surrounding rocks, gas hazard, measures are specified related to safe mining under these conditions. Recommended option of the staged induced caving with a single stage excavation with preliminary drainage and degasification of the massif mass allows for ensuring safety and efficiency of the field underground development.

Strength calculations of shell and tube heat exchangers with cross current of heat carriers shall be conducted considering difference of temperatures along the gas movement in the tube side.
